Thymus mastichina L.

 

    It is half-bush 35-55 cm high and 40-60 cm in diameter. Period of blossom is the beginning – end of June. Seeds ripen at the end of July.
    It is propagated mainly by cuttings.
    Mass part of essential oil is 1,32% from raw mass. Productivity is 62,8 c/ha. Output of essential oil is 84,3 kg/ha (2,6%). Content of main essential oil 1,8-cyneol is up to 71%.
    It grows well on flat,open areas with loose, fertile soils. It is drought-resistant.
